President Patrick Crawford

Patrick is an Economics major in the Class of 2019. This is his seventh year participating in Model United Nations, and his third year as a member of the George Mason Model United Nations club. Born and raised here in Northern Virginia, he grew up surrounded by people deeply involved in politics and international relations. He was an active member in his high school’s Model UN club, attending multiple conferences each year, and even was Under-Secretary-General for the My First Model UN training conference that they put on each year. In his first year he volunteered as Crisis Staff at our MASUN conference, and last year he served as Under-Secretary-General for General Assemblies and Specialized Committees at MASUN XXVII. This upcoming year he is eager to help the conference succeed again as a chair. Outside of MUN you can find Patrick reading or binging old shows on Netflix.

Vice President Warrie Proffitt

Warrie is a member of the class of 2019 and is currently studying Cyber Security Engineering . He is also the Under-Secretary-General for Crisis Committees for MASUN XXVIII. In the past he has served as a Crisis Director for MASUN XXVII overseeing the Pirates vs. East India Trading Company Joint Crisis, and has attended two collegiate MUN conferences to both Yale and William & Mary–SCSY and &MUN, respectively. Warrie’s hobbies include gaming and programming, as well as reading. He looks forward to a productive and fun year for the club.

Treasurer Christina Cross

Christina is a member of the Class of 2019 and a double major in Political Science, with a concentration in Comparative Politics, and History. She enjoys watching and playing soccer and spending time with her friends. Since joining George Mason’s Model United Nations Club her freshman year, she has attended &MUN at William & Mary, as well as NUMAL at Georgetown University. She served as a rapporteur for MASUN XXVI and Chargé d’affaires for MASUN XXVII. She is currently Deputy Director General for MASUN XXVIII and Secretary for GMU’s Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement organization. In addition, she is a member of Mason’s UNICEF, Native American and Indigenous Alliance, and History clubs. Christina is honored to be this year’s Model UN Treasurer, and is looking forward to an amazing year!

Secretary Joanne Hong

Joanne is a member of this fall’s 2018 graduating class with a degree in Global Affairs, with a concentration in Human Security and a minor in Environmental Science. She joined George Mason’s Model United Nations Club in the fall of 2016, her first semester as a transfer student. Since then she has attended &MUN at William and Mary and served as rapporteur for MASUN XXVII. She serves as the secretary for both GMU’s Model UN club and for the EcoScience + Art Student Group, as well as being the outreach and engagement coordinator for George Mason UNICEF. Joanne is also a member of Tau Sigma Honor Society and GMU’s National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She will also be a TA for our faculty advisor, Dr. Sonja Taylor, this coming fall.
